About the House

WiFi / Internet Details

We offer free WiFi to our guests. To access the network, use the network name and password listed on the refrigerator, or simply tap your phone on any of the “Connect to Wifi” stickers located throughout the home.

Heating and Cooling

Around the house, you’ll see thermostats to adjust the heating and air conditioning. Feel free to adjust the temperature to your liking. To switch between heating and air conditioning, push the “M” button on the side of the thermostat until the LED is blue for AC or red for heating.

Fire Pits

Your home includes access to woodburning and/or gas fire pits. Packaged wood is not provided, but you’re welcome to burn any wood you find around the property or purchase bundles at Walmart, located just a few minutes down the road. Gas firepits can be lit using a lighter located in the kitchen. If it is out of propane, there should be a spare tank with the BBQ. Feel free to replace it or let us know if you need some help!

Appliances

Dishwasher

Individual detergent pods are located beneath the sink. Place one in the soap drawer, adjust the settings to your liking, press start, and close the door.

Laundry

Detergent pods and dryer balls are located either in the kitchen or in the laundry room. Place one detergent pod directly in the machine with your load of laundry and adjust the settings as you wish.

Decorative Fireplace

The fireplace in the home is for decorative purposes only. Do not use the fireplace.

Hardware and Technology in the House

Your home is pretty smart. It has lots of technology to make your stay comfortable and convenient.

This includes modems, satellite TV receivers, Internet range extenders, noise sensors, smart locks, exterior cameras, smart hubs, and more.

Removing any hardware may result in an inability to use the door lock, losing the Internet or TV, and more. Guests are not permitted to remove any device without permission of Pocono Lodging Company.

Note: As per our Rental Agreement, we use exterior security cameras. There are no interior cameras whatsoever.

Sleeper Sofa

Your home has a sleeper sofa in the living room and in some cases, a bedroom as well. Linens, pillows, and blankets are typically found in a nearby closet or bedroom on the same floor. If you cant find it, or need additional linens, don’t hesitate to let us know.

When the bed is open, please take care NOT to sit on the edge of the bed, as the metal frame is susceptible to being bent.

Games

Many homes feature a variety of fun, (mostly) family-friendly games. The selection of games varies by house, but you might find a poker set, Taboo, Scrabble, Cranium, Cards Against Humanity, and other classics for adults and kids.

Trash and Recycling

Inside the home, you’ll find a trash can for your use with spare bags under the sink. Please remember that bears are common in the Poconos and will get into any trash that is left accessible. Here are three things you can do to keep curious bears out of the garbage.

  1. Remove ALL edible food from your car. (Bears know how to open doors)

  2. Secure the rubber strap on the trash can each time you take the garbage out.

  3. Clean out the grease trap on the BBQ the same night you use it.

Someone from our team will typically bring the trash to the curb on Wednesday nights and bring it back on Thursday morning. If the garbage bin is full, reach out to us, and we’ll have someone come over to take care of it.

Maintenance and Housekeeping Concerns

If something is not right when you arrive, or any issues arise during your stay, please inform us promptly so we can rectify the problem. We also ask that you inform us of any accidents or damage that occurs so we can act promptly to ensure the home is in good condition for the next guests.

Similarly, if there is anything you need during your stay to make you more comfortable, or if you need a piece of kitchen equipment that you can’t find, please let us know, and we will try to accommodate you. We can’t make any promises, but we will do our best.

BBQ

Your home is equipped with a BBQ for your use.

If you wish to use the BBQ, please be mindful of these guidelines:

  • A set of BBQ tools can be found in the kitchen.

  • You are responsible for cleaning the BBQ after use.

  • If the propane runs empty, please let us know, and we can swap it out for a full one.

  • Please put the cover on the BBQ once it has cooled after use.

  • If you are unfamiliar with the operation of the BBQ, please ask for instructions.

  • For safety, be mindful of young children while using the BBQ and while it is still hot after use.

Happy cooking!

Hot Tub

If your home has a hot tub, please take note of the maximum occupancy and remember that no glassware is allowed! Plastic tumblers are provided so you can still enjoy a drink.

Please secure the cover when not in use. If the water overflows and the waterline dips below the black filter (in the corner of the hot tub), the water will not filter properly and will turn nasty. Please use the red hose in the backyard to fill the tub back up enough so that the water is filtering once again. If excessive debris is found in the hot tub or if the water turns gross from a low waterline that requires it to be fully drained and deep cleaned, a $200 fee will be charged. You may still use the hot tub and fire pit after quiet hours start at 9 PM; however, no music outside is allowed after, and please just keep voices down as much as possible.
